Turunc is just 20 Km from the renowned resort town of Marmaris, but a visit to this mesmerising village takes you to another world. An erstwhile small, fishing and sleepy village, Turunc has now developed as an ideal destination with a different appeal. The village is so small that one can walk from one end to the other end in about half an hour! This place has plenty of restaurants and accommodations. However, being a small village Turunc avoids large crowds and is relatively calmer than the larger resort places in the region. In spite of the recent development works and busy tourist activities, Turunc has maintained its relaxed atmosphere and the ‘laid back’ way of life.
The nearest airport, Dalaman is about two-hour drive away from Turunc. The transport facilities, either public transport or by an arranged transport being part of the holiday packages are readily available. The road to Turunc winds up along the mountainside giving you a glimpse of natural beauty around the region. As the road ends, you reach this enchanting village surrounded by a beautiful beach and serene bay on one side and the pine clad mountains on the other side.
Turunc lies at the foothills of tree covered mountains with a horse shoe shaped bay and a beautiful beach. It is an amazing setting where the Mediterranean meets the Aegean Sea; it is the place where the emerald mountains kiss the turquoise sea. The sandy beach is an ideal place to relax and spend your day ease. If you are looking for some excitement, you can go for swimming among the calm and sheltered waters. Visiting yachts to the area can make use of the small quay here. You can take a walk along the promenade enjoying the spectacular backdrop of the pine-clad mountains.
