The tour to Cappadocia begins with a pick-up service from your hotel in Marmaris, which is usually at night. Marmaris Cappadocia Tour – Day 1
Upon arrival at Cappadocia, during the morning, you will have some time freshen up yourself and enjoy a delicious and freshly made breakfast buffet. Energized and relaxed, you will then continue with an amazing sightseeing experience in North Cappadocia. During the first day of this excursion, you will visit the Uchisar Castle. What makes this site special is that is located in the highest point of Cappadocia, allowing spectacular panoramic views. Then you will visit the infamous Goreme Open Air Museum, which is the most visited site in Cappadocia. There, you can observe churches and monasteries carved into rocks that are known for their well-preserved frescoes.
During the first day, you will also visit the Cavusin village. This settlement used to be inhabited by the Greeks and nowadays is abandoned. The village has a unique charm and a mystical atmosphere as it has stone and rock-cut houses and churches.
Cappadocia is mostly known for its spectacular valleys and the incredible landscapes. For this reason during the first day you will visit two of the most known valleys. Firstly, you will visit the Monks’ Valley that has some of the most iconic fairy chimneys and rock formations in the area. Secondly, you will have the chance to visit Devrent Valley which is known for having some rock formations that look like animals or objects.
The schedule includes also 2 interesting visits at local workshops. The tour guide will take to Avanos town in order to visit a pottery workshop and to a carpet factory in Goreme. At the workshops you can purchase some nice souvenirs. During the afternoon, the bus will drive you to a charming and cosy hotel in Cappadocia in order to spend your evening and get some rest.
Marmaris Cappadocia Tour – Day 2
The second day includes an exploration in the South part of Cappadocia and begins with a tasty breakfast at the hotel. After checking out from the rooms, the bus will transfer you to the first stop of the day. DerinKuyu is the second most visited underground city in the country. The site impresses every visitor with its multiple tunnels, rooms, halls and rich history. The guide will explain everything you need to know about this imposing site and answer all of your questions.
After spend some time there, you will enjoy a refreshing and revitalizing walk along the Melendiz River and through the Ihlara Valley. Ihlara is in fact a 100km-deep canyon which hosts some of the most thrilling fairy chimneys and rock formations. Amon g others, you will observe rock-cut churches and admire the exceptionally tranquil setting. By the end of the walking experience, a delicious lunch awaits for you at a local restaurant.
The exploration continues to Selime Monastery which is the biggest religious building in Cappadocia. The village has a long history as it used to be the home for many civilizations. During your time there, the tour guide will provide interesting information about the importance of this settlement.
The bus will then transfer you to the beautiful Pigeons’ Valley. This particular location is known for having pigeons’ nests on the fairy chimneys. Do not forget to snap some photos of the valley as it forms one of the most popular attractions in the area. The last stop of the tour takes place at an onyx factory. Cappadocia is also known for the onyx mines and the production of onyx handcrafts. At the local factory, you will learn interesting things and be able to purchase some beautiful souvenirs.
During the afternoon, we will start driving back to Marmaris. Take the chance to rest during the road trip or observe the nice views of the countryside. After over-night road trip, you will return to the bus station of Marmaris from where you can reach your hotel.
